Institute Overview |
Founded in 1907, HEC Montréal (HEC) is the independent affiliated business school of the Université de Montréal and the oldest management school in Canada. HEC is home to more than 12,000 students, including 9,400 undergraduate, students enrolled in either HEC's bilingual 3- and 4-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program, Honors BBA, or one of 20 certificate programs. Depending upon an applicant's high school graduation diploma, one year of post-secondary studies may be required prior to admittance to the BBA. Opportunities for specialization in the BBA include applied economics, finance, human resources management, information technologies, international business, logistics and operations management, management, marketing, and quantitative management techniques. In addition specializations in accounting leading to professional designation as a CA, CGA, or CMA are offered. Students may participate in a 4-month internship or choose from over 32 countries in which to undertake an international study exchange.

Located in the Côte-des-Neiges district, the greater HEC Montréal campus includes the Decelles Building, the Côte-Sainte-Catherine Building and the Longueil and Laval campuses. Students have access to 84 classrooms (many with interactive multimedia) and 71 study rooms, a fully equipped video recording room, study areas, and cafeteria. The library holds Canada's largest bilingual selection including 170 databases, 52,000 periodicals. 38,000 electronic books and 28 reference works; along with traditional documents, including 336,000 books, 2,000 periodicals, and 925 audio visual documents. 11,000 Network connections are distributed throughout the campus. The main campus is only minutes from both the Université de Montréal and Côte-des-Neiges metro stations,. Everything is within walking distance, from small businesses - grocery stores, cafés, restaurants, banks and drugstores - to major facilities like the Université de Montréal sports complex (CEPSUM) or Sainte-Justine Hospital.
